Playing over 2 hours for a one-off show is a whole lot easier than playing
over two hours night after night with a grueling tour schedule. I'm not
concerned one bit about them being able to play for over two hours at the
O2. I only hope that the stars are in alignment and that this show goes off
smoothly without the "shambolic" elements of Live Aid and Atlantic 40th.
What will be important is that the band maintain the "equilibrium" and
"dignity" that Robert Plant has talked about over the years if there is any
hope at all of this leading to something more than a one-off gig. Looking
back on both of those events, it's not surprising that Plant has been so
reluctant to do anything like this. After watching the Jimmy Page BBC
interview from the other day, I don't think there has ever been a better
time for this to happen. It was great to see him so collected and in
control of that interview. Other than the broken finger, everything seems
to be right on track and they appear to be fully in control. Rather than an
oldies reunion tour, I'm still holding out hope for new material from these
gentleman. It would have to be really really great to be called Led
Zeppelin. If this show on the 10th goes really, really well, then I believe
anything is possible. Soak this up and enjoy it FBO, because it's been a
long time...

Plant hasn't done a solid two hour
show since he was touring with Page in 1998 unless I'm way off about
the average Priory of Brion set. None of the Strange Sensation shows
(from April 2001 or so onward) have even touched 100 minutes have
they? I think most were about 80-90 minutes. I kind of wonder about
both Jimmy and Robert's stamina (I await the obvious jokes...).
Although it's quite possible that the pure adrenaline of the event
will sustain them for over two hours.
