As some of you know, I've been having some health problems for well over a
yr. now. It all started with a simple back ache!
However it never went away, and eventually the pain moved around to all
parts of my body. I also lost about 25 lbs. At times I was bed fast and at
times
almost delirious. When my hands and legs began swelling and my temperature
rose, and I could not walk on my own, my husband loaded me up and rushed me to
ER. The problem was found immediately. However I told them what to check
for. (that's explained later on)
After MANY Drs, and MANY WRONG Diagnosis, a simple urine test determined it
was a raging kidney infection. (not to mention the $ spent, but I would have
paid anything to just feel better!)
I HAVE insurance and those Drs. told me it was anything from stress to
carpel tunnel, to it was all in my head!!! In fact the last Dr. told me it
was
depression. When I relayed this info. to my husband, he said if I were to
appear before his treatment team. They would definitely say I was NOT
depressed.
Stressed and FRUSTRATED YES, but NOT depressed. So watch out for those types
of diagnosis!!!!!! They are VERY POPULAR amongst Drs.
Moral of the story....sometimes a back ache is just a back ache. Sometimes
it can kill you, and the pain does NOT have to be from the affected area of
the body, as I found out the hard way!!!
Some of you will wonder, why I did not know this was the problem. Well I can
tell you this much. It never hurt to urinate, and it was only recently that
the pain in the lower back and front abdomen began. The entire time, the pain
was in the MIDDLE of my back and in my CHEST. This I suspect, is also why
the Drs. NEVER could figure it out. Who would have thought to check my kidneys?
Actually, out of frustration, my husband got ahold of my mother and she is
the one who said it was a kidney infection, that as a very young child I
suffered from them frequently and had some sort of operation. She assumed the
problem had returned, because the Drs told her back then, that it COULD later
in
life. I was NOT aware of any of this. SO GET YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY if you
don't know it!!!!
The GOOD thing to come from all of this? I have been tested FOR EVERYTHING
and EVERY part of my body has been tested. I've had MRI's, EKG's, CT Scans,
Ultrasounds, Stress Test, XRays of my spine, my liver, pancreas, gall bladder,
digestive system have all been tested, mammogram, tons of various blood tests
etc..you name it, I've had it and basically I AM FINE..wahooo. Other than
waiting on this last test ...which is because the infection went untreated so
long, they are making sure everything is working properly. I pray that it is.
Luckily AND THANK GOODNESS, I quit drinking about 4-5 yrs. ago, as I
decided my body had probably had enough and it was just time to quit. I drank
heavily at times, and as many of you WILL REMEMBER...my first few yrs. on FBO
were usually in a drunken stupor.
SO there you have it. This is why I've NOT been around much for the last yr
and really the last 8-9 months. Thru all this tho, I still worked, ran my
home and took care of my pets, fostered some newborns(kittens) for a week and
still went out and tried to have fun. WOMEN ARE A VERY STONG SPECIES! ;-)
Don't let that back ache go!
Zeppelin FOREVER!

P.S. VILMA, I've tried to email you to let you know I'm ALIVE, but it keeps
bouncing!!
