Question-Ryan: Another thing I heard was that you taught Jimmy Page how to
play the tabla, is that true?
Answer Al: No. I taught him how to play "Blackwaterside" which was
something that Bert Jansch had recorded, which Jimmy called "Black Mountain
Side" [laughing]. It's different; it's not the same thing that I taught him;
it has some of that style. It was a modal D thing. When I did my first
single which was called "The Elf", Jimmy played on the B side, so while they
were getting the sound levels right and stuff I was showing him this thing
that I had worked out in modal D and years later it turns up on a Zeppelin
album [laughing].
