To be sure, I couldn't live without Dolls, Stooges, VU. I meant no
disrespect to you or to those titans of madness. I meant "obscure" in only
the most general sense of bands that weren't mega-successful on the charts
and in the arenas. It's kinda like what Dr. Watson said to Sherlock Holmes
about the notorious criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty, Holmes' most
dangerous foe, who secretly controlled most of the evil deeds of Europe: "As
famous among crooks as he is unknown to the general public."
