Re: Now I've heard everything...

According to the article, "The defendants [allegedly] failed to obtain a license agreement from the plaintiffs or the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, according to the lawsuit."

If this is true, then the suit is probably about not having an ASCAP license.

I don't know what happened here, but I have seen radio stations sued for not paying their license fee, but continuing to play protected songs.

Hey Steve(Zoso) you better run for cover, you might be next!!!! Let me ask you, do YOU have a license agreement with Msrs Page, Plant, Jones and Pat Bonham ? This one I just don't get.

"Van Halen Music Company, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Patricia Bonham are all named as plaintiffs in a lawsuit alleging that Vail business owner Steven Kovacik allowed public performances of their songs at 8150, the lawsuit says. "

I honestly can't figure why in anyone's name would they bother trying to sue club owners for cover bands doing their songs. I mean, do they know just HOW MANY cover bands are playing their songs ad nauseum world wide?

Jeez, I just deleted at least 4 alerts for Zep cover bands playing in pubs in England and the States.

I wonder what makes this one different.
