They rarely ever do this and it can get maddening, to the point where I
can only speculate that this is a source of amusement for them. Even the
original disbanding announcement in December 1980 didn't come right out
and say directly they were ending the band. The official wording was
simply "we could not continue as we were." What the hell does that mean?
Plant's interviews in the late 80's once he dug out his old bracelets
and tie dyes went something like, "no plans to reunite....but I always
reserve the right to change my mind." Then there were the statements
about Unledded and how they might change Black Dog every night to do
something like the digeree-do version (American Music Awards) when in
fact, they pretty much replicated the Zeppelin versions of all the old
songs faithfully night after night (with the exception of No Quarter and
Nobody's Fault the '95 tour only). Then Plant during the 2003 DVD/HTWWW
interviews implied a couple of times he was waiting for Page and Jones
to present him with new music.
