Yes, as I wrote on the weekend, this is probably the biggest "classic
rock" scoop so far this century, so you'd think Q107 would want to have
it up on their site ASAP. An update to their web site's rock report page
was done for this morning posting the official announcement of the
summer 2007 Van Halen reunion tour. That's old news, so I think
confirmation of a Zeppelin reunion would be a far bigger scoop. Imagine
summer 2007 with Van Halen and Zeppelin both touring!
Although I'm one of the ones who often says he doesn't want a full
reunion, there's still a part of me would like to see the guys get out
there and put on a good show. Hell if the Stones can pull it off (A
Bigger Bang is a tremendous album), and Daltrey and Townshend (Endless
Wire is also a tremendous album), why not these guys?
However, if indeed it does happen, Plant in particular won't be able to
sing for awhile because his mouth will be stuffed with crow! He
practically told Mojo recently he was giving up the rock frontman thing
to concentrate exclusively on country. Yet Strange Sensation have dates
booked for this summer. Then there are Jonesy's statements in Detroit
the week before last about not wanting to be part of a Zeppelin tribute
band because there are others out there that can still do it and "in
key" (basses, keyboards and guitars are easy to tune. ;).
