OK as disc three starts up again, and it's Zeppelin again, but I'll be a
friggin Sonofa myself, I swear I hear Lenny Kravitz's Fly and Small
Faces Song of a Baker as the start of what becomes WLL!!!!!!!!!
In the same key no less!!!! You know this is gonna be a thriller ride.
Wow, I just can't get that opening Riff outta my head.... the pre
theramin piece is another unique nugget.... I swear I hear lions roaring
inside that that theramin ride....then they go back to a similar riff
that started the sumber before Jimmy short solo...Then a medley of
oldies classic I can only guess at titles of so won't... but they got
the crowd clapping non-stop... UUweb lists them as Disc 3: Whole Lotta
Love (incl. Just a Little Bit, Hideaway, Trucking Little Mama, Boogie
Chillun', (small cut) Heartbeat, Hello Mary Lou, Lawdy Miss Clawdy, I
Can't Quit You) no mention of that phanthom track 4 on disc 2 !!!!!
I definately recognize Heartbeat! heh heh...I am amazed at how easily
they seem to be doing this number... Did Page do sessions for Buddy
Holly?!?!?!?!? : ) I have to google Hideaway... later...
Hello Mary Lou is ended with a furious drum roll from Bonzo and then
they go into Lawdy Miss Claudy and again I'm amazed at the vast musical
library available at moments notice in their fingers.. I mean did they
sit down befoer this show and go over these numbers in any way ?? Who
knew that going to a Zep concert would feature an Oldies act!!!
Well it's back to Zeppelin with I can't quit you and Page just never
ceases to amaze me. And Plant is astounding as well as he is hitting
some really high notes as well. They come to a standstill as that bit
ends...lost ? So Plant takes the initiative and leads them into Ain't
that a Shame and eventually to Woman....Woman.... and sadly the song
comes to an end and the track fades off with the crowd clapping in
rhythm chanting for more.....
It fades back in with Page tuning up a bit before launching into a wahed
intro to CB. That nasty assed metal swirl of the cymbals returns too!!!
ARGK!!!!! How Page can pull off such a solo after the previous workout
is super human!!!! He must have titanium fingers. Not sure what they
break into where I was expecting It's your thing but still just a
smoking end to a killer show.... And the crowd keep them on for more!!!
Weekend!! Hey 12/2/1971 was a Thursday so I'm sure everyone in this
audience must've had a riot talking about this show. You know, this is
one song I would have loved to hear Zep have done as an official
cover!!! Hey Jimmy it's not too late!!!!! It ends to continued screamss
of more more Jimmy teases then with a snatch of You Really Got Me !!!
It'll Be Me is what they decide to do next... The sound degenerates
here again with Plant kinda sounding distant at times. But his voice in
general still sounds as fresh as a newly pressed zoot suit. Jimmy throws
in a short little wahhed solo. I wonder if the taper had started exiting
and now couldn't get back to where he was and that''s why is sounds
distant?!?!?! But it's over : ( As the track fades out I think it
sounds as if Plant (?) says see you tomorrow....
WOW, what a friggin show!!! THIS deserves an upgrade, I am very
interested to hear from anyone that's gotten the Beelzebub release and
here your impressions of it. IF this was used as the source for it , I
don't see how SIBLY and Stairway could be saved.
Warts and all though, I loved this show.
