I have always thought that it is Jimmy. Especially things like 2-12-75. I
think these are all
shows that Robert would never in a million years allow to be released and
Jimmy wants
to get them out there. Robert's voice is bad on 2-12 and the new
Southampton and he
would never go for it. Overall though, 2-12-75 is such a great performance
that I think
Jimmy wanted it out there for his and the band's legacy.
People have talked about Robert giving up his song writing royalties, but I
think that is
a completely separate issue from releasing live material. I think he still
has his say in what
Led Zeppelin product is out there and a veto from anyone is enough to kill
it.
I know Jimmy is the ultimate perfectionist, but with no hope of Robert ever
giving the okay,
I think Jimmy made them the best he could with limited effort and let them
out.
