Hi FBO -since this relates to one of the issues addressed by many in
the survey, I just wanted to let you all know that I have not gottena
chance to finsih my summarry of the returned surveys. I will be
posting the summary within the next couple of days (I forgot this was
a holiday weekend when I planned on getting it done Thursday....so sue
me for forgetting this week is the week we celebrate stealing tons of
land from the Indians)

each other out in terms of anything and everything. One of the
things that I really think is cool about this group is the fact that
they have a series of DVD archive vines running at all times and
anyone who is a member of the group can sign up for one of these
vines. Basically the vines consist of chronological archives of
every Grateful Dead show that currently circulates. These vines
consist of DVD-R's of the shows in Flac format. The sizes of these
vines range from 11 DVD's to 40 DVD's. What I'm proposing is that we
all work together, pull our resources and put together a master
archive of every release for every show and vine them together as the
"For Badgeholders Only Master Archive Series"
I think this would be a fantastic idea! One thing I have to ask is
this though- I am familiar with trees/leaves/brances, as well as
weeds....but what is a vine exactly? And please forgive me if this is
common knowledge...but I have never heard this expression
And while I am at it, is the explination of "vine", as well as
tree/brach etc something that would be worthy of the main FAQL?
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving,
and thanks!
Jeremy
My thoughts are that we start with the first show 12-28-68 Gonzaga.
I currently have a CDR(1) of Lifetime Guarantee (Empress Valley)
which from what I understand is out of print. I have a list of some
other releases of this show.
Gonzaga ’68 (Capricorn)
Gonzaga ’68 (So Fucking What)
Zeppelin Digital 5
Live At Gonzaga (No Label)
If any of you have Silvers of these releases and would like to
contribute to the first vine of this series please let me know. I
don't want to go further than a CDR(1) copy because the point of this
tree is to get everyone good clean extractions of everything.
I'd definitely love to hear any thoughts on ways to make this better,
get it started etc...
Chas
