Yes, I can see them tapping into their combined creativity again, but
calling it Led Zeppelin and/or just going out and doing the greatest hits
thing (a 'la) The Who, The Stones, etc) would just SO reduce their integrity
to what they're certainly so far above. A different name and mostly new
material would keep it intact, for me at least.
Good subject to talk about.

My thoughts...
I don't want to see them reunite as Led Zeppelin and play only Led
Zeppelin. What I would love, however, is a reunion (most likely under
a different name) that goes in a new direction. Maybe an album or two
of new material.
I don't care what anybody else says, but for me, the only problem I
have with Walking into Clarksdale is that John Paul Jones is missing.
With him, that album would have skyrocketed. Still, for me, it's a
masterpiece, and it would be so cool if Page/Plant got together and
continued in that direction with the inclusion of John Paul Jones.
As for a drummer, the most obvious candidiates for me, IMO, would be
The Black Crowes drummer (I never remember his name), Jason Bonham,
Dave Grohl, Carl Palmer (although, not surprisingly, nobody seems to
agree with me on this one, I think he could do it extrememly well), or
(implanting a little oustide ego here... forgive me...) my younger
brother Aaron (who learned drums by listening to Bonzo, and he can
nail Good Times Bad Times... :D).
Of those, I'd go with Jason Bonham, but more for integrity than anything
else.
No, it would not be Led Zeppelin. Bonzo is dead. Led Zeppelin in and
of itself can never happen again. I have woefully come to accept that
fact. But why can't Jones, Page, and Plant come together with Jason
or somebody else and release something new? They don't have to call
themselves Led Zeppelin. In fact, it'd be better if they didn't. But
I don't see why they couldn't reunite.
The direction Page/Plant went in was beautiful. It was not Led
Zeppelin, and I think we need to seperate it from Led Zeppelin. The
only thing Page and Plant were missing was Jones. Had Jones been
there it would have been perfect. So I say do it again, this time
with Jones, and release new stuff. Give the fans one last encore.
Just my 2¢...

Well, since you put it THAT way... ok, ok, I'll play drums with Led
Zeppelin
if they reform... lol
Just so long as Dave Grohl isn't the guy! lol
Seriously, though, Jason Bonham would be the only worthy option, IMHO, as
far as the preservation of integrity goes.
But still, I hope they never reform, at least to do a greatest hits type of
thing... they are past the ability to do those songs justice as "Led
Zeppelin" (Page/Plant versions, Jones solo versions, Plant solo,
page/Crowes... all good, but a far cry from LZ 1968 through Europe 1973,
which is the extent of my unconditional loooooove for LZ live). Having
integrity is a big thing in this day and age of corporate/financial-driven
greed, and Led Zep are the only group of the classic gods who still have
theirs intact.
Just an opinion.

Her's an interesting twist....... (I have more to say on the subject but
later when I have more time-
Ron, whatn if they wanted to reunite with you on drums? Out of the tribute
bands I've ever heard you seemed to have that Bonzo sound down the best of
anyone.....
