I just got back from the WHO. Of course we all know Pete gets around a
little too much on the internet BUT his brilliance has shown through in a new
CD
and the release of Every Show
on DVD and CD!! THis is what I had to say to Jeremy Mixer about the sad
state of affairs for
Led Zep and if the WHO can still do it and Cream can manage a few nights WHY
NOT
PAGE/PLANT/JONES and possibly Jason Bonham!! Heres what I have to say!!
lets face it Page and Plant if we really look
> at it objectively haven't done squat in years. Its sad. I just got back
from
> the WHO on Monday night not only did they do a mix of hits that blew
> everyone's mind. They played a lot of a new CD, all new original songs.
No Hot Licks
> like the Stones making a fortune off of past glories. Also the WHO knew
what
> most of the audience wanted to hear and did a medley of the new stuff so
as
> not to lose the audience. I am sorry for Jimmy and Robert, Pittsburgh
1995 is
> sitting right here on my desk. It was great. Walking into Clarksdale was
an
> embarrassment. I think the WHO and I am not partial to any one group, I
love
> Steely Dan as much as the Stones as much as Led Zep. But the WHO have
raised
> the bar. Not only that every show now is being recorded and filmed so you
may
> purchase an official pro-shot release of the show you were at and more. I
do
> want to share my P/P, Led Zep treasures of past with the group. You are
the

trying
> to make a living off of Zep stuff, actually most of what I have is about
> gone. Very limited amount of stuff. Also I do not for the life of me
> understand why P/P don't pick up John Paul (is he even alive still) stick
> Jason Bonham on drums and bring back Led Zep for gawd's sakes what a
fortune
> that would make them and then I would have a lot more to contribute than
items
> of past glories. I think that most of the bands these days listen to what
the
> people want via internet. If you want a true contribution from me, than I
say
> it is your duty to organize a true Led Zep re-union, the WHO are doing it
> with 2. Zep has 3 of the 4 members alive and the son of the drummer can
play
> and well. NO REASON AT ALL FOR NO RE-UNION!! So let's then lobby for a
> re-union with the same technology of capturing every night on CD and DVD
and making
> them available on the net for sale. I am sure Jimmy and Robert would
surely
> be finish up in a style most incredible. Please excuse me if there is a
> physical reason for Page's not being able to tour, but I think its time
and I
> understand they both were at the Cream re-union at RAH so you would think
that
> between Cream and the WHO, the message is loud and clear.
If anyone KNOWS why they cannot tour, than I am extremely sorry, I
understand rumors or
truths that Page has liver problems Well welcome to the Club ala Baby
Boomer, we're all
friggin deaf, have livers about to pop and who knows what else, and you know
what!!:?? I do not regret a moment of it. I would do it all over again. By
the way, the Stones have been sneaking around the world since 2002 with one
year off to produce that horrible pile of dog turd Bigger Bang and Ron Wood
says
hes having such a good time he wants to go on into 2007 and they will. Ron
Wood is bopping young super models, getting busted for laughing gas parties
with his daugthers friends and Keith is falling out of trees!! I love the
Stones, I love the WHO, I love Led Zep!! Let US LET THEM KNOW THAT THERE IS NO
REASON FOR THEM TO NOT FOLLOW SUIT ALA STONES AND WHO AND RAKE IN A MASS
FORTUNE
MEANWHILE SATISFYING MILLIONS OF FANS WORLD WIDE!!!
- Yours Darren
