I first heard LZ II on my brother's 8 track in 73 or so. Groovy headphones
and the "click" during tracks and all.
I had always heard of the band sort of through osmosis but never latched on
to them. I do recall being fixated by "Boogie With Stu" and went out and
bought PG-my first ever album.
Flashes of the black arm bands that Sept day in 1980.
A few years later, local radio station WMMR kept playing "CB" from "BBC" 71.
My buddy and I taped it off the radio and played it incessantly on the
cassette player in the car.
Lots of trips to midnight movies to see TSRTS.
In college, there was the typical student cafeteria where some guy was
selling boots-of which I knew nothing about. He had Copenhagen Warm
Ups,Bonzo's
Birthday Party and Mudslide. I being in college had no money. I called my
buddy
and asked him to meet me with some cash. He had none so I traded my leather
jacket for those 3 boots. Still have em.
20 yrs later, I remain enchanted.
