Cool story. My first Led Zep intro was a Led Zepp 2 tape and a Coda tape that
friend of mine found on the side of the road, and we listened to it on one of
those old school tape recorders. It was the best stuff I had ever heard (I was
13).
The first boot I got was Air Raid (Osaka, Japan 29/9/1971. "Where's Bonzo"
asks Percy as the band waits on. He took off somewhere and the show had to
wait for him to come back. Has "Friends" on it too. Ave sound - I still got
that CD.
My favourites are the early ones - the sound was raw, but clear, and I like
the covers they did like:
As long As I Have You
Sitting And Thinking
I'm Gonna Move
Train Kept A Rollin
Blueberry Hill
And all the Elvis ones..

First Time I heard Zep.
Not sure exactly.. 1969 though. Communication
Breakdown.
What really got me was WLL though. I remember buying
LZII before I. WLL.. OVER 5 minutes! WOW...
LOL
My first boot..
well 2 parts to that one. I remember NOT buying some
German LP I saw in the record bin.. It was all
German.. I had NO idea it was Zep Live..
1972/3? the famous BBC show... hearing Zep live for
the first time.. WOW.. A friend recorded it off the
radio.
but the first boot I bought was the 1975 World Tour
LP, from Montreal. The LP pretty much sucks.. BUT I
use to crank up the treble and listen to OFHAFA and
Kashmir.. OTH mostly.. still a fav only because it is
the first LP boot. I too remember those boot catalogs
in the back or Rolling Stone or Circus.. man.. I
actually remember seeing Blueberry Hill and Live japan
1971... I was just into Physical Graffiti at the time
so went with the 75 show..
Then saw Zep May 30 1977. I have posted my comments a
few times on this list over the years about that
show.. amazing really, truely amazing. The atmosphere
of a Zep show in 1977 just cannot be put into words
really. And I got see one of the best 77 shows.
First CD boot was of that show... :-)
before I had a tape list to trade I bought some tapes
from..??? I forget his name.. anyway 6-21-77..
the first time I heard SRS from 6-21.. WOW..
then the Jimi Page Experience tree run here on FBO..
you know.. who ever did that tree set a standard..
merging aud/sb incredible sound.. the entire 1969
Zep...
