Some of these questions may be taboo on this list, but any help is
appreciated.
Taboo?!?!?! Surely you jest...
1) Does anyone know the dates to the Listen To This Eddie set?
The infamous Listen to This Eddie set is from June 21, 1977 LA Forum.
2) What are "silver" bootlegs?
"Silvers" is a common way of referring to cd bootlegs that are genuine
pressed cd's as opposed to dye based cdr recordings. Even though I
haven't tried anything yet, but I've seen some "silver" cdr's on the market.
3) Where are people getting boots these days? Trees? BT?
Seems like the latest trend is to sit back and wait for someone to put
up a show on a bitorrent site. But of course, someone still has to fork
out the dough in the first place to get at least one copy from a label!
Or so you would think... I still like to trade.
4) Has someone set up an online database of shows: dates, locations, set
list, sources, and possible a torrent file? :)
There are many sites that list all of the above. Most of the links for
these can all be found on Buckeye's Best of Zeppelin on the Net page:
http://www.oldbuckeye.com/
Some of the more popular ones are of course UU, Bootledz, ALS.
FBO-ers Duncan Watson has even put together an absolutely fab access DB
you can download on your PC/laptop/cuniform tablet that gives you all
sorts of ways to cross references shows, titles, setlists, songs... I'm
pretty sure he even has it up to date to even include the almost up to
the latest solo stuff from each member. Sadly, he hasn't had to update
JP or JPJ in awhile. : (
There are lots of torrents sites out there as well that you've probably
seen mentioned in the past few days.
