Anybody been to tblweb.com lately?
Wow, I just checked it out, and I must say it looks a LOT better and a lot
mroe modern! What a fantastic job they have done to an already fantastic
site!
Also interesting that there, they ARE reporting that Ahmet is in a
"medically induced coma" but that he is in "stable condition" and that he
"shows signs of recovery"
Yahoo News, however, via the AP, reported that Atlantic records says "he
was never put into a coma" (paraphrasing)
You know, I ahve to say, multiple news sources tend to piss me off when
the news is contradicting. For someone of his stature, they shoudl either
say nothing at all (much like no one knew about Ed Bradley's condition
other than the fact he looked like hell, but nothing was
publicized until he died) or tell us the truth. And please don't start
explaining to me about the media, as it is an industry I have worked in
for a total of 6 years of my life, I know how that whole thing goes.....I
just think whatever information that ends up "out in the open" should be
accurate. Not a criticsism of TBL but one of the media in general. And on
top of that, reporters should respect the privacy of people and if they
were asked not to say anything, they shouldn't. Something tells me THAT
might be the case here....but it's all about money and corperate greed
thesedays unfortunately.
Interestingly AOL/Time-Warner, who owns Atlantic, is the nsame way as all
of their media competition, so if he IS in fact in a coma, they should
just say so. If his family doesn't want it publicized, the original news
agency reporting it should respect that.
Jimmy, ya look great without the dye. Makes me rue my incoming gray a little
less.
I had not seen these pics until today.....he almost looks more
sophisticated! And considering his lifestyle in his younger days, it's
cool that he still does have a bunch of color still left! Most people I
know tend to be naturally all-grey in their early 50's......maybe it's
because I am in Maine?
Anyweay, the surge in discussion, possible trees etc has already made
quite an impact on this list. Good to see other people posting that don't
normally post.....this is the kind of conversation I remember making FBO
so great in it's heyday!
