LIST SURVEY (second posting)

Hi all, this is my second time posting this in an attempt to get as much
feedback as possible. Not even 10% of the FBO community has responded. If
you respond privately, while your points will be passed on to the FBO
community, you will remain anonymous. I will not judge you if you disagree
with how we are running this list, this feedback is needed for the benefit
of the future of FBO. Even if you never post, we would like to see what
you think of the list. Please respond by Wednesday Night/ Thursday mroning
at 12 AM, and the final summary will be posted Thursday or Friday. Also,
over the weekend, I plan on posting a more detailed summary on the web and
the admin list for those who are interested in reading the complete
results.
Please do not reply to FBO (zeppelin@xxxxxxxx), please reply to the admin ist
(admin@xxxxxxxx) or privately to me if you feel uncomfortable posting anything
on the admin list (which any member of FBO can subscribe to)
Sam brought up some interesting points, and I'm not necesarrily saying anything
is going to change because of it, but he does bring up some legitimate
complaints about the quality of this list. (that of course will vary in
opinion, someone who might love it and another might hate it)
As a long time member, whether he is here or not, with the points he made, I am
interested in some feedback on the following things. The more feedback I get
the better. This is just an informal survey:
DO you think there are too many off topic posts?
Does it seem like FBO is a small group of "elite" regulars who don't care about
what anyone outside of their circle says. That 10-15 people control this list
and ignore posts by the other 1100?
Why do you suppose newer people don't post? What can be done to encourage them
to get into the conversation? Is it possible that none of them have anything to
say and just enjoy reading it?
Compared to other online discussion groups of this size, where would you rate
FBO on a scale of 1-10?
What is the biggest weakness of FBO?
And it's greatest strength?
If you were running the list, what would you do differently?
Any other comments?

Please don't hesitate to hold back......it just seems when people do leave they
have a complaint that was not voiced very often, if at all, and they are almost
always one of the above reasons. The admin list is here to provide everyone a
place to make these complaints before it escalates into something that ends up
pissing someone off and gwetting fed up with the forum....and then only then do
they post a complaint or email me privately about it.
Rather than lose people, I would rather have everyone be eager to post and
voice converns......We took the list over from the charter by vote in order to
eliminate beaurocracy that the committee could cause with situations that
didn't have time to wait for the committee. And we try to keep the rules really
lenient, while working to douse out the flames before they overtake the
list..... I'm just curious to hear your input. Once again, PLEASE do not
respond this to FBO
