Well, Nech,
As far as good Rock history books, do you mean overviews of Rock, or
certain genres, or musician/group bios?
Right off the top of my head, I highly recommend:
Mystery Train - Greil Marcus
Last Train to Memphis, the Rise of Elvis Presley - Peter Guralnik
A Saucerful of Secrets, the Pink Floyd Odyssey - Nicholas Shaffner
Stoned - Andrew Loog Oldham **
Room Full of Mirrors: A Biography of Jimi Hendrix - Charles Cross **
Free: Heavy Load - David Clayton ***
All the Young Dudes, the Biography - Campbell Devine **

Moonage Daydream - Mick Rock, David Bowie **
(**highly highly recommended)
Also, Rock 'n Roll London - Max Wooldridge (thanks, Debra, for
recommending this book to me!)
Hope this helps, and support your local library!
Keep groovin' (and readin')

Wow Scott...I have never heard that before. If you son't mind me
asking, just where did you find this fantastic fact? In the various
tomes on Zep I've owned I don't recall ever reading that. Then again,
maybe I just don't recall. And would love to know as I would like to
get a couple of good Rock history books ( fact not fiction or Hammer
of the Gods Stuff ) to have in my collection and broaden my horizons.
Eventually, I will have time to sit down and read agin.
