Re: welcome to the circle....

First time I heard Zep: my brother brought home LZII, hmmm, 1970. We listened to it on headphones in his bedroom (he was 13, I was 15). I had never heard anything so powerful, swaggering and sexual before. Brutal and beautiful. That was a revelation, and it set me firmly on the path of rock and roll as a life force.

First bootleg(s) for me: The Jimi Page Experience, 4/27/69 (B&P'd for me from Chad), followed shortly thereafter by Brutal Artistry (thanks, Michael O!) Still two of my fave listens!

Saw Led Zeppelin 1/21/75 at the Chicago Stadium. My top fave concert of all time, because it was the Mighty Zep at the peak of their powers, even though Plant was struggling with the flu, and Jimmy was recovering from a broken finger. At the time, I couldn't believe that I was actually going to see THEM, it was like going up to a mountaintop to see the gods at play.

That opening shot of the MSG crowd from the TSRTS movie, during Rock and Roll, gives a pretty good idea of the excitement, the electricity, and the momentousness, of being at a Zep concert. I get goosebumps every time I see it.

They still rock my world, lift my spirits, give me strength and make me FEEL ALIVE!

Keep groovin'

Constance
