I'm sure somebody will correct if I'm wrong...but didn't Eddie say that
the facility was the only one setup for 5.1 reviewing? Not necessarily
where the actual mixing was being done?
I got the impression that Page wanted to hear exact parts when he
arrived and maybe the audio was premixed when sent to that specific
studio...just that the tech didn't know the songs well enough to know
where he was supposed to be starting playback, etc.?? Not that they were
actually doing any mixing inhouse.
Hopefully that makes sense...trying to get this out during a brief
respite from a killer workload.

Thanks for the details, Eddie. This pretty much dismisses the
speculation about Kevin Shirley's recent web diary comment about
upcoming mixing work for a legendary classic rock act. It is rather
disturbing that people who have no knowledge of or love for Zeppelin's
music are working on the remixing. Perhaps fresh ears might make for a
different perspective, but I love the results Shirley came up with for
both the Zeppelin and Page/Plant DVDs. He's obviously someone who
understands "power, mystery and the hammer of the Gods."
