Thanks for the details, Eddie. This pretty much dismisses the
speculation about Kevin Shirley's recent web diary comment about
upcoming mixing work for a legendary classic rock act. It is rather
disturbing that people who have no knowledge of or love for Zeppelin's
music are working on the remixing. Perhaps fresh ears might make for a
different perspective, but I love the results Shirley came up with for
both the Zeppelin and Page/Plant DVDs. He's obviously someone who
understands "power, mystery and the hammer of the Gods."
On the weekend I also saw a thread over on royal-orleans that discusses
an alleged bit of info from a Rhino employee. Apparently the re-release
hasn't happened because all the business/legal details between the
various interested parties haven't been ironed out. Damned corporations!
May they be visited by the ghost of Peter Grant in a bad mood!!!!
I love one thread contributor's thoughts about a possible running
commentary from Percy: "That was crap....that was crap too...the
mushrooms - my God, what was I thinking? Total crap! ....I'm a crappy
swordfighter too - Can we just fast forward through this part?"
Another mentioned how cool it would be to have JPJ doing a commentary
explaining how he and Bonzo worked out the beginning of the San
Francisco interlude.
Anyway, the full thread is at:
