Hi all

I'm glad Oner mentioned Tool because there are some similarities
between Tool and Zep. Except from the amazing version they did of No
Quarter, Tool have some other things in common with Zep. They are all
about the music. They don't really care for putting out singles, it's
all about albums and playing live. Sure Tool have singles but I never
hear them on my radio. They don't appear in their videos. They don't
want to be famous or think of themselves as a product or a face. In
fact they shy away from camera's. When it comes to making music Tool
is not hold back by any trend or time limit. They have a light shade
approach in their music and can by dark, heavy, profound, emotional
and whispering in one and the same track. Their concerts are amazing.
Real musical craftmanship and shivers every time I watch. I'm seeing
them thursday in Holland. Try to listen to them if you can and don't
be put off by the heavy sound 'cause is a lot more to be found.

Did I mention their interest in the occult?

Cheers Tony

Subject: (nzc) some words from tool's m.j. keenan

recently someone posted a link from maximum ink mag. after i read it
i went to the home page to see what kind of thing this mag is. there
is an interview with tool's maynard james keenan. i liked his thoughts
about fan-artist relationship. i wanted to share it with the list.
excerpt is below:

"I would hope that they (fans) would just see us doing something,
then go off on their own and do something. Be inspired by it. I love
the
idea of a kitchen full of cooks coming up with a new recipe because
they were listening to the album and doing their own thing. They're
not worried about meeting us, or tripping on what we had for lunch or
where we're going on vacation, or what we meant here or there. They
were just inspired by the music and made an incredible dish."
