Other things in the vaults

The other day's post about the quote in the newest edition of The
Concert Files got me thinking just what else might be in either Jimmy's
or other folks' hands that may or may not ever see the light of day.
Some things to consider....
In DVD, when the cams are strolling the aisles, ever hit pause and try
to see some of the dates on those film cans ? Check it out, you'll be
amazed. And just where pray tell are those hallowed halls anyways? I
don't know myself....anyone care to speculate? restored to perfection or
not, I'd love to see them all. I mean, almost split my lip trying to get
some silent home movie footage of them driving into Pittsburg...
And of course , speaking of Pittsburg, TCF also mentions that pro cine
footage was taken at that gig in '73. Maybe it'll surface with the next
re-remaster of that show!!
It has been pretty much confrmed that concerts in Carnegie hall were
taped....so where is it ? About 8 years ago I was outright given a name
and a price tag...no way could I even imagine laying out that kinda
cash...or even having that kind of fun money. I have so many old pc's at
home, I don't even know where to begin to see if I can ecover that
message. But considering I found #69 & 70 of the Sotd's on one of them,
I should really try.
It's pretty apparent that Wolfgang's Vault has some pristine gems in
the house. I wonder if those will ever become available along with the
other shows the site is saying are gonna eventually be available for d/l
or purchase.
But some other not so obscure sources hold great potential...The
upcoming Montreux thingy got me thinking.
Promoter Claude Nobs recorded shows I'm told. Don't know when he
started doing this, but supposedly pro soundboard and master video's
exist of Plant in '93 and of P/P in '01. But I also wonder, could he
have unreleased photos or film of the '75 Jazz festival that JPJ took
Bonzo to see Count Bassie's band and where JPJ performed a set with Etta
James ? That would be shweeet to see and/or hear.
For that matter, I have heard that a full video exists of JPJ's
3/28/2000 Irving Plaza Show. Anyone care to comment?
OK, I'm done....hoping to hear what the rest of you want to throw in
the ring. Leave the skeletons in my vault alone though.
