I agree...EAC is the choice.  But then again, I'm one of the fanatics and
have been for 5 or 6 years.

 Absolutely EAC.  Also, see the great tutorial at
http://users.pandora.be/satcp/tutorials.htm and follow their links to get
the LAME encoder. (EAC rips but if you are making mp3's for your device
you'll need an mp3 encoder. - it works with EAC)
