Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas everybody!
Who else is gonna listen to the last night in Osaka '71 on Christmas
eve? Rudolph references and all... lol.
Ha! Personally I think the closest Zep ever came to playing "Christmas music"
was 4/28/77 when Jonesy threw in parts of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite into
the No Quarter Jam. I think I'll mp3 tonite for a fun Holiday ringtone!
While not Zep, Robert Plant performed a Christmas song with the
Honeydrippers live band (Brian Setzer) on Saturday Night live in....I
beleive 1984? I'd look it up in my SNL bible but I am too lazy and just
got out of work.
Has anyone noticed that probably the song Robert is best known for is
probably his cover of Sea of Love? I have noticed that on classic rock
stations, variety stations, slow music stations, and even oldies
stations......find me a Zep tune that is acceptable in that many radio
formats!!!!
When I am DJing Karaoke, sometimes I can sit and do some Zep songs and
people aren't into the Zep, but if I do that one, EVERYONE loves it. It
blows my mind. But I have to say, I definately prefer the HD ersion to the
original, but both are fantastic songs.
And heyt folks, don't forget about the IRC channel!!!!
