RE: hey guitarists, tube amp/pedal question (nzc)

Ok I'll buy in here.
My set up is simple. I worked for years in retail selling guitars and have
pretty much seen the lot. Pedals, rack mount, the Zoom thing that sat on
your waist etc. After owning a lot of it from time to time I am absolutely
convinced that if you have a good amp (valve for my ears) then you don't
need much else.

I use:
Fender '68 Deluxe Reverb.
Ibanez TS808. An old overdrive. The one with the little square silver
button.
TC Electronic chorus. The best sounding chorus for my money. Pricey but
sweet...and quiet.
Boss DM-2 analog delay. It shimmers. Not like the digital ones.
An old Ibanez TS-909...just for a different drive if needed.
And I have a JD Cry baby wah.

That's it. Simple, compact and sounds great.

Combined with either a reissue 57 Fender strat (maple fingerboard) or a tele
(rosewood). Preferring the tele lately.

Cheers
Brad

here is my foot toys from guitar to amp: a boss chorus (CE2 i guess),
boss turbo overdrive (OD2 it must be) and my favourite; jim dunlop
original crybaby wah. in addition amp has its channel foot switch.

when and if i can find the time, energy and desire to play on time
(you are not welcome to discover pick harmonics with volume at 11 on
after hours if living in an apartment flat) i rarely use chorus and
use it in very little amounts just to give the sound a lime taste.
overdrive pedal is assigned only when i want to use wah with lead
channel. if you put overdrive after wah it (wah) can't control the
signal appropriately and on time.

are these the the pedals i want NOW? NO! i got them before i know what
i know and want now about guitar and sound. what i now want is:

fender 65 super reverb amp, an old non master volume marshall half
stack, ibanez TS808 vintage tube screamer and a vox wah. i also want
to experiment with delay and flanger but it's another chapter.

let's jam all the night until they pull the plug.
