re: My first Zep

To make it clear,

I do like some of the music that comes out today.... but most of what I
listen to is older music. And the other point I think that was mistook was
that just because I like new music, I will not renounce my roots. I still
like Motley Crue. Stop laughing. :) Hey, hey what can I say, I like what I
like for whatever reason.... I also didn't mean to make anyone feel old.
I'll be there soon enough... :)

But I wish Blind Melon was still around! I didn't get into them until after
Shannon's death. But man they were good. I remember the day after he died
(or maybe the day he died) I saw Page and Plant at the Fleet Center (I think
it was the second leg of their tour) and he dedicated the show to him,
giving him muchos kudos. Anyone else at that show???

I just think that now everything is overly produced. Marketing new
performers, and the whole like... The industry is just filled with people
who don't compare (in my humble opinion). Not to say there are not any good
performers, but they are few compared to the mainstream stuff.

I mean seriously, how about Sabbath. Anyone who grew up on Eddie Van Halen
may not be impressed by these guys but take into account the time they were
doing it. No one was doing stuff like that back then.

Even if a band is good, it's hard to come up with ideas that haven't already
been done, if not played out. But if something sold once, chances are the
music industry will repackage it (another similar performer) and try to cash
in again. I guess everybody is entitled to a shot, but I think it's more
hype than actual raw rock'n roll.

Just my 2 cents,
