Hi Von- you are exactly right. As long as it is not for commercial purposes (in an ad or something.)

And when I say commercial, that does not count promos.....if a radio or TV station wants to use a 30 second clip of a Zep song to promote something, that is OK. However if that radio or TV station was advertising on another radio or TV station they would not.

A local TV station here, for example, uses the lick from Billy Squire's "Everybody Wants You" with all of their promos....although it sounds like a cheezy karaoke version.
