I love those early shows -- especially August/September 1970 -- where Plant
sings a lot of stuff in a low, warm, big tone to fill out the high stuff.
It was really effective in SIBLY and the WLL medleys. Maybe he screwed up
his high range because he stopped balancing it out with the really low
stuff? I'm sorta afraid that Mars Volta's singer is gonna run into the
same problems... his voice doesn't crack as much as it used to, but he also
isn't singing (singing, not screaming!) as low as he used to do.
Is there a bonafide singer on the list who can clear this stuff up? Can
someone lose their upper range by using it too much and blowing it out?
I'd hate to think of only being able to use one set of drum heads or
strings for my whole life...
