and whee hee hee! (don't ask. blame it on the Blair witch incident)
Robert looking like a wino? naaaaaaaah. looked at the photos of his tour
so far, and yeah, so he's dressed in jeans & tees. maybe after 30+ years
he's decided that he wants to be comfortable up there while he's performing.
although it is definitely a departure for him fashion-wise,
(AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! OMG!!! HOW DID I GET INTO A
CONVERSATION ABOUT ROBERT PLANT AND FASHION???!!!!!) ahem. sorry 'bout
that. to continue......if he were a 20- or 30-something rocker, no one
would even notice that he was wearing jeans & t-shirts in-concert, cos they
pretty much ALL do these days.
however, i cannot get gripey about people who don't care for Plant's jeans &
tees, because i personally thought the fashion police should have taken
Jimmy somewhere and beat him with a wet poodle till he got a decent hair cut
& stopped wearing all-black during _that_ P&P tour.
BUT, wino? definitely not. used to live in the artists' quarter of KCMO,
and had plenty 'o' winos (and hookers, dealers, pimps, and
older-than-God-bluesmen) as neighbors. Robert looks waaaaaaaaaaay too
spiffy to be a wino. reminds me of that sone "Clean, White and Neat" (or
something like) he did........which is rather disappointing. me, i'm ALL
about comfort---live in my sweats & tees as much as i can---but he just
looks so _normal_. the Eastern-influenced clothes were cool, and made you
think he dressed up "special", just for the fans at the concert hall. the
jeans & tees (and Jimmy's all-black ensembles) are, i think, annoying
because they ARE so "normal"/casual. again, i can understand the comfort
biz, but even just a nice short-sleeved Nehru-type shirt would be more
"concert-wear"......you'd still have the breathable cotton and the
loose-fittingness, but would be more what people have come to expect from
Plant in-concert, i think.
and i hope to heaven that i never, EVER feel the need to make a post about
fashion again!!!! LOL
