for all those who have similar attitudes towards singers, consider this-----how's about if Jessica Simpson did a remake of Zep I.....with Jones & Page, or her sis did the same for PG, or how about Brittney doing Zep III? Rod Stewart could do ITTOD, and turn them all into swing versions. then of course, the one I'm waiting for is Bono covering Zep IV.......he could make it all about him as Jesus Christ, like the Joshua Tree. ; )
there are "singers", and then there are musicians, who use their voices as an additional instrument in the band. maybe Plant can't or doesn't care to hit the high wails anymore, but last time i saw him, i was still _very_ impressed, and it sounds like most folks who've seen him on his current tour still think he's got the pipes and knows how to use 'em.
as for the daily Plant-bashing, yeah, it's gotten so that reading virtually anything from FBO these days is pretty much worthless, IMO. i find it ironic that the worst "basher" of 'em all says it's done in part to rile the Percy-obsessed amongst us. seems to me that he's the most obsessed, considering that virtually all of his daily emails seem to end with RP in the crapper. again. get over it, dude. we "get" it. you think Robert Plant is a condescending, has-been twit who should stop singing, and should retire to go shear sheep at his farm in Wales for the rest of whatever. you've made your point. move on. form your own 24/7 All Plant Bashing All The Time list, if you feel the need, but crickey! you really don't need to tell us every day how much you despise the guy----we got it, already!!!
and yeah, i gotta say it------for those who are offended by Plant showing his age, have you looked at Keith Richards lately?!?!?!!!!! even the "Thin White Duke" ain't what he used to be. age happens. me, i respect the guy for not going the "Cher" route, and botoxing everything she couldn't get lifted, dermabraised, or sucked out.
