Thanks to bluidmerl for the tip on where to find these, which I'm sharing
with you all, just in case you haven't seen them:
There are clips on Disc 2 of the DVD featuring amateur footage of the band
and their rented aircraft--not only the Starship, which is familiar to us
from TSRtS as well as some well-known still shots (Page in shiny green
shirt, Bonzo with spiderweb shirt), but also Caesar's Chariot, which was
used in '75 and '77. I'd never seen a picture or film of it before, so it
was a treat. The easiest way to distinguish the later plane from the earlier
one is that, whereas the Starship was adorned with the Led Zeppelin
lettering in the font used on the cover of TSRtS album, Caesar's Chariot had
the band name painted on it in the font used on the cover of Phys Graf and
for the '75 tour program.
The clips play after The Ocean and Stairway to Heaven respectively, but you
have to have accessed the tracks from the menus for them to play. In other
words, if you insert Disc 2 and just let it play through, you won't see the
clips.
Also seen for the first time today: the footage accompanying the MSG menu,
with SIBLY as soundtrack and showing '73 offstage footage, almost certainly
shot by TSRtS crew in Baltimore or Pittsburgh. I love the little exchange
between Pagey and the cop at the dressing room door (who looks like he could
be the same one in TSRtS who turns to the camera and says "Lotta fun, lotta
fun" after the kids are allowed to get in through the delivery entrance!).
