Since you just joined you must've missed our post earlier on...

I asked Mr. Jones that very question last tuesday. The answer was simply that 
sometime during 
the sounchecks and rehearsals it got placed there then never moved. 

" It just sort of got stuck here"  said Jonesey. HE also said that he's glad it 
never actually 
rang during a number as he wouldn't know what to do!!!  So it was just there. 

JPJ is a funny guy!!! I'd love to have tea with him and Maureen someday to 
discuss Wallace 
and Gromet further.
