Originally this was going to be sent right after Part Three. Unexpectedly my
computer did a
nose dive, then the phone connection failed then, well I got the idea that
something, somewhere
somehow didn't want this story to see the light of day. After wrestling with
computer problems,
and phone company situations off and on all week, things are back on track,
so...
Too bad, here's the rest of it.

(Note: Like I said who knows if any of this has ever or will ever happen that's
not the point.
The names of public figures are not changed cause that's life sometimes or not.
Who knows?)
Henderson was getting nervous, too many witnesses, he thought and wondered if
he should call
for some back-up.
I want you to play "In My Time of Dying," Henderson insisted.
Jimmy said, "Henderson if we agree to play that then
you have to let us choose another two or four songs
of our own."
Henderson shot back,"Agreed, I'll let you choose some then.
Rory whispered to Jimmy and Jimmy smiled and went
over to Keith.
Keith laughed like a maniac, and silenced everything.
Then Robert regained his composure and announced
"We're going to do a little tune called,"
Born on the Wrong Side of Time"
Henderson kept silent, Rory was showing
Jimmy some chord changes
and out of nowhere he produced a folded
up lyric sheet from a beat up wallet on a chain out of his back jeans pocket.
"Here, this will help you out a little," Rory offered.
Robert winced.
"We'll do this one together then," Rory smiled quietly and
somehow Robert felt like he was standing there
with a brother he'd known and loved his entire life.
The song worked like a charm, a curious little charm like
a prayer opening up heavenly skies.
Henderson asked Jimmy's bodyguard if he would get him
a drink."
"Bourbon, straight up," he flipped.
The guard returned and handed him one.
"That's good." he muttered spilling some on his ledger
the drops landed on Bonzo's entry in Henderson's
ledger, bluring it.
Rory whispered to Jimmy, and Jimmy turned to
Henderson.
Jimmy said, Now as a request we're going to play
"In My Time of Dying,"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Henderson croaked with a crazed gleam in his
eyes. The musicians and the monkey all careened into the song.
The little monkey threw away the spoon and
found yet another set of bongos and crawled up
on a table nearby Phil and began hitting them.
Jimmy, Rory, Robert, Jonesey, Bonzo,
Phil, and Moonie rocked, like there
not only was no tomorrow, but that there
wouldn't be anything after sundown either.
Everyone was trading licks with everyone and the song wove itself into a
beautiful
shimmering tapesty of purples, pinks blues and lightning flashes of gold.
Henderson was having
the time of his eternal infernal existence.
The rest of them felt like they were fighting
for their lives.
Rory spoke up,
"There's a little song that I used to sing down at
"Beggar's Banquet' on Third Street in Louisville
to some little lady there named Shal, it's called
"A Million Miles Away,"
Robert had actually liked this song, but he didn't want anyone to know
that.Jonesey had never
heard anything capture that strange lonliness a man could
feel when things in life were getting a bit much.
Bonzo just liked it, it was a great groove.
But Henderson was nervous. As Rory and Jimmy played,
he felt like he was getting wispier and wispier until he thought they all
looked as if they
were on the wrong end of a telescope. He felt everything around him getting
hotter and hotter.
"Must be later than I thought," he mused to himself,
"Quitting time Massa, Moufakar! Quittin time, we all be gwanin' home now,"
That voice jolted Henderson out of his reverie.
"No one's quitting anything, I'm not done here yet."
"Oh, yes you are Henderson, get out of here, it's after
sundown." Pagey smiled and uttered a few well spoken phrases in
Enochian.Henderson could feel
himself shutting up like a puzzle box.
Things went black and when the lights came back on, He was
standing next to Charlie Daniels.
"Well I see you've had a busy day," Charlie said, looks like you need some
gospel to get you
going again.
"No, No No anything but that!" Henderson moaned,
"They've pulled a switch on me you know."
"Who's pulled a switch on you, Henderson? Why nobody's
ever done that," Charlied drawled laughing heartily.
"I just happen to have one of my old heroes here with me.
Please allow me to introduce Mr. Tennesee Ernie Ford."
Ernie solemnly intones, "Yeah though I walk through the valley of the Shadow.."
Henderson says, "Wait a minute," and Charlie says, "I don't have to. Remember
I've already
bested you three times and that's my limit! Get the **** out of here you little
old devil.
You aint even scratch these days and you know it."
Henderson ran into an invisible wall, and on the other side of the wall was
Rory Gallagher.
I've already done my time Henderson, now it's time to play, And Rory lit into
"Walking on Hot Coals"
Henderson shrieked and screamed, "No and fell and fell and fell, and kept right
on falling into
some dark hole that sounded like the Loch Ness monster was waiting for him at
the other end.
Jimmy rubbed his eyes. They were pulling up to the secured entrance at the
Loew's and his
bodyguard was nudging him gently, "Mr. Page, Jimmy, Jimmy, sir we're nearly
here.
Jimmy shook his head and ran his hand through his hair and looked around,
"I think I just had the weirdest dream I've had in a long time."
"Dream, sir. What dream, you've been sitting here glancing over your little
statement to
the fans before the curtains going to open this evening."
"I have, I could have sworn that I had been down to that little bar just down
the street
until a few minutes ago. Apparently not." Jimmy went quiet and decided he'd
sort it all out
later. They managed to get to the door and Jimmy tried to dodge some fans but
one came up
with a bootleg and said,
"Hi Jimmy. Can you sign the cover art on this one it's 4/4/70?
It's my favorite show..."
Jimmy replied,"Why are you back again, I just signed one for you earlier this
afternoon.."
"No, Mr. Page, this is the first time I've seen you today, please,"
the young man begged.
"OK let's just step inside for a moment and then you'll have your autograph."
Jimmy signed it and looked and then the young man handed
him a copy too.
"I'm sure you'll like this show, there are'nt any more like
it. It's called, 'Bonzo Strikes Again,' the young man melted back into the
hallway.
Robert and Jonesey were standing ahead and Robert said
"Ha, there you are, thought you were going to leave us to do this all by
ourselves did you.?"
"No," Jimmy replied, "Um Robert have you had any
weird dreams today, I mean lately,
I just had a really odd one that I'm having trouble sorting out."
"That's alright Jimmy, I think we've all been having a different kind of day if
you know
what I mean," Robert shot him a glance back that said, 'Don't talk
about that here no one will believe us.'
"Yes Jimmy it's been a bit strange today,"
Look what I picked up at a shop across town,
And there in Joneseys' hand was the one of a kind
Guitarman bass. And then they knew it was time
to speak up to the fans for a few moments.
It was all about the music, it had always been about the music. And it always
would be.
