mmmmmmm......the psych wars. LOL i didn't get that impression--just that he
didn't really
want to be there. seemed to me that he felt like the questions were silly, the
interviewer
was lame, and he'd rather be somewhere else doing something interesting. to
me, it looked
like the whole
slumping-in-the-chair-ankle-crossed-over-the-knee-contemptuous-smirk-on-the-face
attitude was directed toward Lauer (as in, "wow. you really don't have a clue,
do you, little
boy? how many obvious questions are you going to ask? no, really.") didn't
really get any
vibes directed towards Page or Jones (except that maybe he was glad they were
there to answer
the questions so he could just sit and look amusedly pained)
regarding what i said earlier about the seating arrangement---wasn't meaning it
was a "message"
from the guys, but that it was probably some front office exec's brainchild.
have the guys been
known to play little mind games with the fans? yeah. sure. of course.
always. but this was
just too crass for that. it was a clobber-you-over-the-head, "see--they like
each other!
they really like each other!" type of thing. trust me....you don't just get to
sit wherever
you want to on interview shows. everything is pre-arranged & orchestrated by
pop-psych types
for the "proper mood" and to send "subliminal messages" to the viewers. of
course, they don't
tell the interviewee(s) that. it's always something about the lighting or
mikes or the camera
set-up.
man, would i love to see the whole thing! Jimmy was obviously stoked, and
probably had a LOT cut;
Jones was mostly quiet, but when he talked, he talked (again, more cuts, i'll
bet); and Plant
only got one pithy comment in (tons of cuts there, guarenteed! LOL). ah well,
maybe someday
(soon!?!) we'll see the Uncut Today Show being treed. ; )
Lauer and Couric got one thing right---they weren't worthy. : /
