One of the best snappy comebacks to _that_ question that I've ever heard!
Just watched the clip on msnbc.
I'd love to see the raw video from that interview. It's fairly obvious
they've cut things out here and there, notably before and after _that_
question. In fact, earlier on in the interview (earlier in its broadcast
form, that is), Plant appears to be shooting Lauer, or somebody off-camera,
the "withering look" to end all withering looks. Maybe the reunion question
actually came earlier in the interview, and Robert spent the rest of the
time glowering at Lauer.
I thought Lauer was a complete idiot, but then again I've always thought so.
Sure, he didn't ask the questions we as fans would have asked, but
remember--"Today" surely formulated their questions based on their
perception of who their "average" viewership is. I.e., they dumbed it down.
About the only positive I can say about Lauer's narration and questions is
that he referred to Bonzo's death as being from an "alcohol overdose." That
sounds better than the way it's usually described.
