Here it is the 2nd night of Zep day... sitting here drinking a glass
of Merlot still just taking it in. All the responses have been absolutely
wonderful, and Nech I am forever jealous of your encounters last night
:-)...
Actually I'm happy you had such a great experience and I enjoyed reading
your overview. More details please..
HTWWW is much better than I could ever have imagined. The quality is simply
stunning. I especially am enjoying the last 3 track on Disc 1. Unplugged
way before it was cool to be unplugged. It seems to me that tracks from the
Forum are recorded a bit better than Long Beach. The Forum tracks are a
little punchier.
As for the artwork, it certainly is better than Early and Latter Days. The
fold
out is popular now, as it is more economical and functional. A variety of
pics
would have been nicer, repeating the same silhouette is a tad boring. I am
always
interested in liner notes, so that is the most disappointing. So I'll read
Louis Rey's
remarks and, the paragraph or two from "The Concert File". I am just so
stoked about the
whole event.
But alas, I have only viewed a very small portion of the DVD. Remember I
promised
my Zep buddy I wouldn't watch the DVD until he got back from vacation. I am
trying my
damnedest to honor that!!!!! Now I know what a drug addict goes through
trying to
stay away from drugs. Reading the reviews from FBO and all the press
reports makes me
just want to say the hell with it and watch it, but so far I have managed to
contain my
enthusiasm. Come this Saturday night all hell will break loose!!!! The
anticipation
is some kind of sadistic high though.
Well let's keep all the positive thoughts, ideas, observations flowing...
this is
the most fun I've had in a long time folks.... Keep posting the articles,
and/or
links and Nech and others who attended the screening keep filling us in.
Peace Out,
Brock
P.S. A bit heartfelt thanks to Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones,
and Bonzo
for making this all possible.
