On the subject of the DVD Audio:
Here is a reprint from the ZeppinHood newsgroups (http://www.zeppinhood.net)
>>On Kevin Shirleys(studio engineer for HTWWW and DVD) Web page
>>he says another Zep item to come out in a month. I am guessing it will be
>>DVD audio for HTWWW.
I think they really missed the mark on that one... The audio from the DVD is]
*much* better (perhaps not quailty wise) than the CD Set (IMHO), and comes
out to something like 5 CD's and 42 tracks of audio!!!
They could have released all 3 sets (HTWWW, 2003 DVD, and 2003 CD) at the same
time and gained a revenue stream, as many would have bought all three, and
thoses
without DVD players would have bought two instead of one.
Perhaps releasing it a month later will cause a secondary surge of sales,
however,
if they do not add more value (or it contins less value - ie: the promos are
dropped)
then it might not sell as many, as I am very sure there are folks out there
ripping the
audio from the DVD's, and no telling how many of those will end up ciurculating
as
bootlegs.
On the other hand, we know that most of those folks will end up buying the
additional set,
as they *MUST* have a complete Led Zep Collection....
