Re: Knebworth underrated?

I, too, have recently warmed to the Knebworth shows. My past exposure to
8/11 had been a video that I acquired in the early 1990s ... you know, the
standard Knebworth video with picture quality ranging from C+ to B.
Although it was interesting to see that video, I certainly wasn't blown away
by the performance.

However, about 6 months ago, I acquired the 8/11 show on CD and was struck
by how much better the band sounded on the CD than on the flat-sounding
video I heard.

Then, about 4 months ago, I acquired the Celebration DVD of the 8/11 show
and, in addition to having a much better picture quality, it had a vastly
improved sound quality. Certainly, the tinny, thin, soundboard-like sound
from my oringinal VHS video was replaced by a much fuller, tough,
Zeppelinesque sound.

I must say, if you have the right sound source, the Knebworth shows were
much, much better than the majority of reviews would lead one to believe.
