I am sure by now, all of us have had a full day to digest the new live
offerings, and beyond the complaints of the COver art/packaging of HTWWW, I
have no major complaints.
Some of my personal thoughts on the DVD, the CD stuff is awesome, but the
DVD for me was way more emotional..
1.Did any of you get choked up at the intro into RAH 1970??? I love how the
dvd goes directly into the show and not the menu.
2. James Patrick Page was on fire that night, White Summer is hands down the
best guitar playing I have ever heard in my life.
3. ICQYB is sublime.. I could go on and on about this one song
4. Zep was more of a jazz quartet than a heavy metal or rock band. the
interplay, the improvs, the riffing, down to every last note, pure
revelatory
5. I wish the menu extras were accessible in their own way, so that whenever
we want we could see them and select them instead of having to go to the
menu and see them. minor complaint
6. Man I need the Earl's Court stuff on cd now.. Never did I think it was
that good. The acoustic stuff is magical. STH solo is out of this world
7. Fuck the press for asking about the Beatles. you could tell Jimmy was
getting annoyed at those questions
8. Bonzo we miss you so much. Knebworth was tear jerking for me.
9. Danish 1969 TV stuff was delightful to see in sync finally after all
these years!
10. Black beauty, whoever stole you should be stoned..
11. I wanna rush home from work right now and watch MSG 1973, just for the
Ocean, does Bonzo/Pagey interactions get better than
that????????????????????
Jimmy, Thanks for your painstaking work in putting this together.. 20 plus
years worth the wait people.
