Re: Some LZDVD thoughts

Heh... now I'm picturing a totally stationary Page when listening to
04/26/69 and 09/29/71, hunched over his instrument with a deadly
seriousness... ;-)

I got the DVD today, but not the CD -- waiting 'til Friday for that.
I've noticed that they stuck in a little slow-mo footage here and
there that doesn't actually match up with the music (the best
example: bits of DaC from Tous En Scene are actually from
Communication Breakdown soundcheck, apparently), but it's cool. Did
the Earls Court bootleg DVDs have those weird stretching effects, as
in Trampled Underfoot?

It looks like Bonham did a lot of rimshots (stick hitting both rim
and head at the same time) later on... from about '73 or '75 and on.
If you look at the '69 footage, he slams with his wrists, but there's
also a lot of arm action. By '79, he barely lifts his arms, and
there's a much sharper sound. Gosh, this DVD has turned me into even
more of a fanboy!
