Re: HTWWW packaging critique

Just gonna chime in with my 2 pence on the subject of the album artwork...

I am of the opinion that we didn't get some "flashy" art and intricate
booklet/linear notes, heavily produced album packaging, etc...to KEEP THE
COSTS DOWN!

What if their thinking was:

"Hey, bloke, I gots an idea...let's cut out the major production to keep
this thing cheap so the "casual" or "uneducated/new" listener might be more
willing to fork out some quid to pick this up!"

Just think, today's youth, makin' their weekly run to Best Buy to see what
type of tripe is currently being produced by Fred Durst, stumbles upon the
new album, and thinks: "Hmm...Led Zepplin...I've heard some good stuff said
of them...it's only $16...maybe I'll pick it up and see if they're worth a
listen...." and...

BAM!!

The fuckin' Hammer of the Gods smashes everything they ever thought they
knew about music...

Next day...same kid is back to pick up the entire back catalog!!

Or maybe they did it as a boon to us...to keep the costs down and deliver to
us what we really want...a Live Show in excellent sound quality...hell...I'm
sure Page is aware that if we want some flashy production we can pick up the
latest EVSD release for 10x the cost of this release!

And just for the "F*" of it...my interpretation of that
"meaningless-abstract" image in the background of the picture is actually a
composite of the First and Fifth ablum (note the blimp in the top left
corner and the "steps" in the bottom right) with "heavy" effects applied to
signify the "range" of the songs that were played in this concert.

Now returning to blissfully engorging myself in HTWWW- D&C....

P.S. I am aware of the fact that I spelled Led Zepp'E'lin wrong above...
