Been on lurk mode for a while. Pinching myself for the past month or so,
cannot believe the DVD and CD releases. In spite of the splicing/dicing and
sprucing up this is still going to go down as the best Rock DVD and one of
the best Live cd's every released. However, there's something else that's
gonna come out of this..
JIMMY PAGE IS BAD ASS MUTHA on Guitar. I mean, yes us die hards and some
rock critics acknowledge his virtousity. But 75% of the listening public
when they think of Pagey they think heavy metal, riffs, and
darkness/mystery.
HTWWW specifically is gonna give the listening public Jimmy Page guitar
virtuoso, in addition to sonic architect, producer and all around
mastermind. The tracks I have been hearing all show blazing guitar playing
and intricate rhythm playing the likes of whcih have not been released to
the general public EVER> The studio albums are great, but Jimmy never out
and out rips loose on those, TSRTS is a bloody bore at times, and BBC
Sessions were good, but showed a raw, younger Jimmy.
Jimmy circa 1972 was a man on top of this game. Blazing speed, finesse,
power, mystery, blues all in one slender, British package. This is seriously
gonna put people out of their mind. I cannot wait..
