Tangerine Man,
of course they still had it in '79
They had it right up until the point Bonzo was gone.
The rest of them still have it, except Robert's voice is even more touchy than
it used to be.
On a Garden Tapes slant,
that is really a painstaking and meticulously close examination Eddie. My
thanks to you for
your complete attention to minute detail.
I've really always liked LA Forum's OTHAFA so having the whole Long Beach
version in there
strikes me as a different slant. Sadly, I never got Long Beach. Now at this
point I'd like
to have the other two California Nights so I can go through the complete
comparisons.
One could have really hoped that some version of Tangerine would be present on
How the West
Was Won.
I would have been very happy if Jimmy had kept his voice balanced in the mix
for Whole Lotta
Love, he sounds just fine to me. I always thought he was a bit amiss and too
harsh on himself
when it came to his personal assessment of his voice.
He has a beautiful speaking voice if nothing else, albeit a bit low in volume.
I always cherish
his Pageisms from the Dayton Outrider show. And as I keep trying to tell
people, every once in
a while when I think of it, please do yourselves a favor and don't cut off the
in between song
chatter. There are big stories in there for some of those cities.
What's the two songs I sing to myself when I need a few moments to get
re-oriented? Friends and
Tangerine. Go figure.
Um have a little what-if story coming up for those of you who might find
yourselves on 34th
street in your dreams or for real next Tuesday.
