waiting and listening for HTWWW

the wait the wait... 25+ years and next week the wait
will be over... official Live release.. not
discounting BBC a couple of years ago, and of course
SRTS.. BUT..

so when i first heard it was coming out, i said to my
self.. ok lets go in a zep fast.. no zep then the
official release will sound incredible.. that lasted a
couple of days.. then i pulled out 6-25-72 boot.. yeah
man....... I somehow wish they would put the drone
from the boot on the official release.. expically the
part where the taper goes from the right to the left
channel.. that brings such anticipation to the comming
concert.

then i got big trade in... new better version of
11-16-71.. what a show.. and the listening was back
on.. about NON stop.. i was listening to mostly 71 and
72 shows. then just last week saw some pre-reviews of
the DVD and the talk of Knebworth etc... pulled out
"Final Cut" & Copenhagen Warm Up's.... not bad. i
hadn't really listened real closely to those shows...
best thing is the set lists for those shows.. wow, i
could pick better versions of most songs, and plug
them into that set list.. but anyway.. trying to get
the feel... then the downloads of the 5 song
preview... WOW even mp3 versions are incredible....

then reading Eddie Edwards take on the true 6-25/27
mix, not just the different songs, but splicing within
songs, i wasn't expecting that.... i guess this shows
that Page is really a perfectionist, and the reason no
official release was done.... BUT they always said
song remains the same was a soundtrack.. BUT i think
now this shows technology has just advanced (and Jimmy
is off heroine) to do with live stuff what he really
wants to do.. 

SO this weekend what do I listen to.. go to fasting
again.. or pick something LOUD, or pick something of
lesser sound quality so the official will sound that
much better??? hhhmmmm

just some thoughts of a long time fan
