Zep in Daily News

Hey all:

New York's Daily News is a major metropolitan newspaper and so, while I was
pleased to read the on-line version of yesterday's Zep article, complete
with quotes from the boys, I was also pretty stunned to notice some major
factual errors! Clearly, no one at the News bothered to fact-check this
piece. The article sez that the '75 DVD footage is from L.A. It says
Knebworth was the band's "last show." That Bonham's death was
"drug-related." (Well. . . I guess that's TECHNICALLY correct, but. . . )
And that the Atlantic 40th Anniv. show took place in '86. And---oh yeah---it
got Page, Plant and Jones' ages wrong. Shame, shame! I hope they're planning
on running corrections.

The piece did have one good zinger of a line, however, when it noted how the
critics responded to Zep in their prime, saying that they got "the same
level of respect Britney Spears gets now." That's pretty damn accurate, and
pretty damn sad.
