I think no one answered you is because nobody knows.
If you look at a DVD the structure is very complex, it contains all sorts of
information, the VOBs are broken into cells which contain
languages,subtitles,viewing angles,region codes,chapters ect ect. It has to
be perfect or it won't work.
It is also a new technology with DVD-R and DVD+R standards. You also have
stand alone burners and computer burners.When I bought my first 2X SCSI
burner it made alot of coasters but as newer models were released they
became more and more stable.
What could cause a flaw?
the burner?
your computer?
power sag?
the media?
the software?
the disk you are copying plays but has a slight flaw that gets amplified in
time?
method of transfer?
I wish I knew.
