40,000? Stadium? I think not. The Capital Centre (yes, it really was spelled
the Brit way) in Largo, MD (yes, it technically was in Largo, not Landover),
later the USAir Arena (finally demolished by controlled implosion in
December 2002) was an indoor arena with a capacity of 18,000 and change.

But that's excusable--judging from the description, the reporters were in
just as much of an altered state as the musicians, so some memory lapses are
to be expected. :-)
