Quotes from the BBC article

Well, looks like the boys have done a 180 on the good old "reunion rumors"
front. During most of last year ... and really since the abrupt end of the
P/P 98 tour, we've gotten nothing but denials from Messrs. Plant, Page and
Jones about a reunion. Page with his "I've gotten tired of waitng for
Robert" and, more recently, his "the only way you'll see Zeppelin is via the
DVD/CD" quotes ... Plant with his typical "Zeppelin's in the past" routine
... and JPJ with his "I'm more interested in moving forward with my solo
career" retorts. Hell, during a good portion of last year, we were reading
about how JPJ and Robert could barely speak to each other during business
meetings.

More recently, however, we've begun to see something a little different.
First, I must say I was rather surprised by Page's Q Magazine interview
quote about how he was "trying to work JPJ into the fold" during the end of
the '98 tour. This was the first time I'd ever heard that one.

Now, we've got the quotes attributed to Plant, Page and Jones in the above
BBC article.

Plant's quotes - well, you can discount what he says, as he gives the usual
innane non-answer to the question of a reunion. However, you can perhaps
read more into what he does NOT say - i.e. he does not give the unequivocal
"no" that we've heard in the past.

Page and JPJ go even further. Most surprising is JPJ, who, for the first
time in recent memory, actually indicates a willingness to get together with
the other two (including Plant!). Page has seemingly reversed his stance of
March 2003 (the above "see Zep on the DVD" quote) and again speaks of the
"possibilities."

Now, what is the point of all this?

I'm not blind, and still have serious doubts that they will actually get
together in any type of form again. I am also aware of the fact that there
are SS dates scattered throughout the summer (although not too many).

However, even my skeptical side has to admit that the BBC article does show
more potential than we've seen in a looooong time.

But - and here's the key - do you think the three of them would stoop so low
as to purposely (and falsely) indicate the possibilities of a reunion merely
to generate additional demand and interest in the upcoming releases? Yes, I
realize that's rather cynical, but I think we've all got to consider that
possibility in light of the fact that they're trying to sell something and
"creating a buzz" is a great way to boost sales.

I suppose only time will tell. If the boys are indeed purposely lending
credibility to the reunion rumors simply to help sell the upcoming releases,
I would be rather disallusioned and disappointed in them.
