Have to agree Since Clear Channel is not involved not making money off the
bands recordings why would they care about bootleggers??? It is a smart play
on their part as it sounds like a very low overhead proposition with chances
of large returns. I'd be willing to bet they can sell thousands of these
shows to people leaving a concert for a big name band.
I went to multiple Stones shows on the US tour and the souvenir shops were
mobbed after the show. Who wouldn't pay $14.00- 20.00 for a copy of the show
they just saw??? Hell wouldn't all of you rather have a decent board
recording then a marginal audience recording?
As far as squeezing the artists..based on Cchannels history you can be sure
there would be more then subtle pressure applied........Only the big bands
like Springsteen, Stones, D Matthews might have the power to tell them to go
pound sand......
